The\u00a0Ateneo de Madrid<\/strong>, a jewel of the\u00a0Paisaje de la Luz<\/strong>\u00a0and cradle of great cultural movements, witnessed an unforgettable gala on June 5: the\u00a0Tartget Prize 2025<\/strong>\u00a0awards ceremony. This international competition for figurative and contemporary painting, in its first edition, has exceeded expectations and established itself as one of the major events in today’s art scene.<\/p>

More than\u00a0350 attendees<\/strong>\u2014including artists, critics, sponsors, and cultural and political figures\u2014filled the majestic\u00a0C\u00e1tedra Mayor<\/strong>, which warmly welcomed nearly\u00a0100 selected artists<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a01,900 submissions across 85 countries<\/strong>. The evening, hosted with warmth and professionalism by renowned communicator\u00a0Lorena Berd\u00fan<\/strong>, featured moments of deep emotion, inspiring speeches, and a memorable musical interlude by concert trumpeter\u00a0Manuel Blanco<\/strong>\u00a0(soloist of the\u00a0ONE<\/strong>) and pianist\u00a0Margarita Kozlovska<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A Contest Born in La Mancha, Recognized Worldwide<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The gala also celebrated a dream come true. The jury, composed of\u00a029 international experts<\/strong>, awarded the\u00a0absolute winner<\/strong>\u00a0(Gold Tartget, \u20ac12,000) to\u00a0Hispano-Peruvian artist Marcos Rey<\/strong>\u00a0for his work\u00a0El Ramo<\/em>, described as\u00a0\u201cthe perfect synthesis of technical mastery and narrative depth.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0The artist, speaking from his studio in\u00a0Arequipa<\/strong>, thanked via video\u00a0\u201cthe trust of Tartget Prize and all the artists who, from the solitude of their studios, still believe in art as a universal language.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

The\u00a0second and third prizes<\/strong>\u00a0went to\u00a0Macedonian artist Sinisha S. Kashawelski<\/strong>\u00a0(Silver Tartget, \u20ac6,000) and\u00a0Spanish artist Juli\u00e1n Maroto Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>\u00a0(Bronze Tartget, \u20ac4,000). Completing the podium was\u00a0Aragonese artist Rosana Larraz<\/strong>, who received the\u00a0Fusion Tartget<\/strong>\u00a0for her original dialogue between abstraction and European tradition.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The competition, driven by\u00a0Daimiel natives Juan Francisco G\u00f3mez Cambronero, Jos\u00e9 Luis S\u00e1nchez Monta\u00f1\u00e9s, and Ismael Terriza<\/strong>, has managed to attract artists from\u00a0five continents<\/strong>, placing\u00a0Spain\u2014and specifically La Mancha\u2014on the global map of contemporary painting<\/strong>. During his speech,\u00a0Cambronero<\/strong>\u00a0emphasized the\u00a0\u201cambitious, open, and rigorous\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0nature of the project:\u00a0\u201cIf we had wanted to do the same as always, we would have stayed still.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

Clementina D\u00edez de Balde\u00f3n<\/strong>, vice president of the Ateneo\u2019s art section, opened the event, praising the initiative as\u00a0\u201ca cultural achievement that honors Castilla-La Mancha and projects art from its roots to the world.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The\u00a0Top 100 Tartget Prize<\/strong>\u00a0exhibition, housed in the\u00a0Anselma and Laf\u00f3n Halls<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0Ateneo de Madrid<\/strong>, will remain open to the public until\u00a0Friday, June 13<\/strong>. It features works from\u00a024 countries<\/strong>, covering all competition categories: from natural landscapes and portraits to conceptual pieces, fantasy, and contemporary still life.<\/p>

But the adventure doesn\u2019t end here. The competition will travel to\u00a0Daimiel on June 26<\/strong>, where the exhibition\u00a0\u201cTartget Prize en La Mancha\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0will open with an event featuring prominent figures such as landscape artist\u00a0Ferm\u00edn Garc\u00eda Sevilla<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Emilio Gil<\/strong>, president of the Ateneo\u2019s art section.<\/p>
